How to make your garden business easier to find and easier to choose

Watch how to build a clearer route to better-fit enquiries — without constantly chasing clients or trying random marketing tactics.

Which stage are you at?

Not every business needs the same kind of support. I generally work with people in one of three situations.

Experienced but not visible enough

You have a strong portfolio and plenty of experience, but your website and content don’t fully reflect the quality of your work.

Most of your projects still come through recommendations. Your marketing feels inconsistent, and you’re not generating enough enquiries from people who haven’t previously heard of you.

You need clearer positioning and a more joined-up way to turn your experience into visibility, trust and enquiries.

Busy but commercially stuck

You may already have plenty of work, but it isn’t always the right work.

You’re working long hours, accepting projects that aren’t profitable enough or struggling to create the time needed to move the business forward.

You may not need more enquiries. You may need fewer, better projects, stronger qualification and a clearer commercial direction.

Skilled but starting out

You have the professional skills to produce good work and you’re serious about building a successful business, but you’re not yet sure how to position yourself or attract clients consistently.

You may be starting a new business, changing careers or moving from employment into working for yourself.

You need to explain what you offer, who it’s for and why someone should choose you—before investing time and money in disconnected marketing activity.

Turn your expertise into a connected client journey

Your website, positioning, SEO and content shouldn’t operate as separate pieces of marketing.

They should work together to help the right person discover your business, understand why your approach is different and feel confident taking the next step.

The exact approach will depend on your stage, what you’re trying to achieve and what is currently getting in the way.

Depending on what is currently missing, I can help you:

Clarify who you want to work with and what makes your approach different
Strengthen your services, offers and overall positioning
Explain the value of your work more clearly
Improve your website so it guides people towards an enquiry
Create a focused landing page and booking process
Optimise your website to reach people actively searching for your services
Create content that demonstrates your thinking, not just your finished work
Build a simpler route from initial interest to a qualified conversation
Bring your website, portfolio, content and messaging together around one clear direction

WAYS WE CAN WORK TOGETHER

Strategy Intensive + Roadmap

This is best if you need an experienced outside perspective and a clear plan to move you forward.

Before the session, I’ll review your current positioning, website, content and approach to attracting clients.

We’ll then have a focused 90-minute session to identify where the business is getting stuck and where your time and budget would be best spent.

You’ll receive:

  • A review of your current positioning and client journey
  • A focused 90-minute strategy session
  • Clear recommendations based on your situation and goals
  • A practical 90-day action plan setting out your priorities
  • A clear recommendation for what to do yourself and where you may need support
  • You can implement the recommendations yourself or use the session as the starting point for us to work together.

Typical timescale: Completed within 7–10 working days, including a practical 90-day action plan.

Time needed from you: Around 2½–3 hours in total. This includes completing a short questionnaire, attending the 90-minute session and reviewing your final plan.

Investment: From £595

Sales Landing Page & Booking System

This is best if you need one focused page that clearly explains your value and guides the right people towards booking a call.

Your website helps people discover your business through search, explore your services and understand the wider range of work you provide.

The sales landing page is more focused. It brings your most important message, offer, proof and next step together on one page.

This gives you somewhere specific to send people from your Instagram profile, content, direct conversations and other marketing—without expecting them to search through your main website to work out what to do next.

We’ll clarify your positioning and offer before creating a focused page that explains:

  • Who you help
  • The problem you solve
  • What makes your approach different
  • What working with you involves
  • The results or experience you can demonstrate
  • What the potential client should do next

Your landing-page system will include:

  • Clarification of your positioning, message and offer
  • Planning the structure and client journey
  • Sales-focused landing-page copy
  • Design and development of the page
  • A script and recording guidance for your video sales letter
  • An embedded booking calendar
  • Qualification questions where appropriate
  • Recommendations for your Instagram bio, profile link and calls to action
  • Mobile optimisation and testing before launch
  • The landing page will work alongside your existing website rather than replacing it.

Typical timescale: Approximately 4–6 weeks.

Time needed from you: Around 5–7 hours across the project. This includes the initial session, supplying information and proof, recording your video, and providing feedback.

Investment: From £1,550

Growth Partner

This is for businesses that have the foundations in place but need ongoing strategic direction and practical help keeping their marketing moving.

We’ll agree on the most important priorities each month and focus on the work most likely to support your commercial and personal goals.

Your support will include:

  • A monthly strategy and planning session
  • A review of your current marketing and progress
  • Clear priorities for the month ahead
  • An agreed amount of focused implementation
  • Recommendations based on what is and isn’t working
  • The monthly scope will be agreed clearly in advance, so we both know exactly what is included.

Typical timescale: An initial three-month commitment, reviewed at the end of the first 90 days.

Time needed from you: Around 1½–2 hours per month. This includes the monthly strategy session, reviewing progress and providing any feedback or approvals needed.

Investment: £595 per month with a minimum three-month commitment

Brand and Website Project

This is for established businesses whose current brand or website no longer reflects the quality of their work or the direction in which they want to grow.

A good website shouldn’t simply look attractive. It should clearly explain who you help, demonstrate the value of your work and guide potential clients towards making an enquiry.

Your logo should represent your business in a confident way that sets you apart from competitors. It should be an extension of who you are and what you represent.

We’ll bring your positioning, visual identity, website and client journey together so everything communicates one clear message.

Your project can include:

Positioning and messaging

  • An initial discovery and positioning session
  • Clarification of your ideal clients and the projects you want to attract
  • A clearer explanation of what makes your approach different
  • Review and refinement of your services and offers
  • Core messages and calls to action for the website

Visual identity

  • A new or refined logo and supporting logo variations
  • A clear colour palette and typography system
  • Guidance on photography and visual style
  • A simple brand guide to help you maintain a consistent appearance

Website planning and content

  • Planning the website structure and client journey
  • Keyword and search-intent research
  • Sales-focused copy for the agreed core pages
  • Clear service descriptions and calls to action
  • A structure for presenting your portfolio, projects and testimonials
  • Support selecting and organising suitable images

Website design and development

  • Bespoke WordPress website design and development
  • Mobile and tablet optimisation
  • Service, portfolio and case-study sections as agreed
  • Enquiry forms or booking-calendar integration
  • Connections to your social media profiles and other key platforms
  • Two rounds of revisions at the agreed stages
  • Testing before the website goes live

SEO and launch

  • On-page SEO for the agreed core pages
  • Page titles and meta descriptions
  • Google Analytics and Search Console connection where required
  • Website launch and final checks
  • A two-hour handover and training session
  • Support following the launch

A dedicated sales landing page, video sales letter and booking system can also be included if you need a more focused route from Instagram to booked calls.

The exact number of pages, features and final price will be agreed before the project begins.

Typical timescale: Approximately 8–12 weeks, depending on the size of the website and how quickly content, feedback and approvals are provided.

Time needed from you: Usually 1–2 hours at key stages of the project, including discovery, reviewing the direction, supplying information and approving the website. Allow approximately 8–12 hours in total across the project.

Why you should work with me

I’m Mark, a digital consultant specialising in garden, landscape and related design businesses.

My experience combines garden design, visual identity, website design and development, SEO, positioning and content strategy. I’m also a qualified garden designer, so I understand both the creative side of the work and the challenge of explaining its value to potential clients.

Over the past 28 years, I’ve worked with 98 clients in the UK and internationally, across gardening, landscaping, construction, agriculture, retail, financial services and other specialist sectors.

This wider experience helps me look beyond individual marketing tactics and understand how your positioning, offers, website and content need to work together commercially.

My work has included helping a garden room business move from one project to £120,000 of work booked five months ahead, and supporting garden designers in creating a more consistent flow of enquiries and client meetings.

The focus is always the same: understand where the business is getting stuck and put the right structure in place to help it move forward.

Start with a free 15-minute fit call

This isn’t a high-pressure sales call or a free marketing consultation.

It’s a short initial conversation to understand:

  • Where your business is now
  • What you’re trying to achieve
  • How long the problem has been holding you back
  • What appears to be getting in the way
  • Which type of support would be the most appropriate next step

If I feel I can help, I’ll explain the most suitable option and what it would involve.

If I don’t think my support is right for you, I’ll be honest about that too.
